This Sunday, Jeff Saibene’s men hosted La Chaux-de-Fonds, penultimate in the standings. With a 2-1 victory, more than deserved for the Garnet!
What to remember
After a doubtful start to the championship, the Servette reserve is doing much better. The possession and number of chances was more than dominant. Léo Besson didn’t have a lot of work, and the defense stayed in place! Something we didn’t see before.
It seems that Servette was finally able to find his bearings at the end of this first round. The derby on Sunday, November 24 against CS Chênois therefore keeps all its promises!
The thread of the match
The Garnets dominated the game but were unable to finish until the end of the first half. The latter logically scored the first goal of the match in the 44th, scored by his striker Hugo Rodriguez Marcos.
In the second half, the Genevans kept control of the game. Captain Ousseynou Sene, in Olympic form after these numerous goals in the league, doubled the lead in the 64th minute. At the end of the match, Chaux-de-Fonniers reduced the gap in the 87th minute but fortunately, there was no time to turn things around… End of the match, and victory for the Grenat!
Player of the match
The whole team was good but a special mention must be given to Ousseynou Sene with his goal and his excesses on the wing: they hurt the opponent of the day. Note the excellent restarts from Léo Besson at the goalkeeper position, which allowed the attackers to project themselves in the direction of the opposing goal.
