an anti-capitalist activist films himself in Gérard Piqué's house (video)

Young anti-capitalist and pro-independence Catalan activists illegally entered the second home of former Spanish footballer Gérard Piqué, in Cerdanya. They filmed themselves and released the video on Sunday evening.

A video that is making the rounds on social networks, especially in Catalonia. Young activists from the Arran network, close to anti-capitalist and pro-independence circles in the Spanish region, attacked the second home of Gérard Piqué, former FC Barcelona defender.

In the video, we can see in particular a hooded man in the residence of Gérard Piqué in Cerdagne. He is also seen tagging the house writing “Fora pijos”, designating a social class feeling superior to others.

In the video, the activists of this movement explained that “the pijos of Barcelona come to have fun on the ski slopes and golf courses and paint anything on our territory.”

Furthermore, the members of this network wanted to denounce the housing crisis for the inhabitants of Catalonia, especially for those who live in the mountains.

“While we have to leave Cerdanya because we cannot pay the rent, 64% of the accommodations are second homes, and are open fourteen days a year on average,” they explained.

To conclude the video, the activists call for “going on the offensive against the tourist monoculture which is suffocating the Pyrenees, against the crooks, profiteers and speculators”.
