The links between FC Barcelona and super-agent Jorge Mendes are no longer in doubt. The Portuguese will visit the Catalan capital again next week, with four key files on the agenda.

The first is the renewal of the contract of young Guille Fernandez, for which negotiations have been carried out in recent weeks. The 16-year-old is out of contract this summer and is considered one of La Masia’s biggest talents. He currently plays with the under-17 team and has scored six goals in 11 appearances for the Spain under-17s, despite being a midfielder. He has also played eight times for Barca Atletic this season.

Next, Joao Felix and Joao Cancelo will be the subject of further discussion, although there has been no real change in position, but discussions are underway with Atletico Madrid and Manchester City to retain the Portuguese duo. Atletico Madrid would be interested in Vitor Roque in exchange for Felix, while FC Barcelona would like to keep both on the same conditions, Manchester City wanting to sell Cancelo outright, while Barça is still thinking about Kimmich.

Mendes has a lot of work

But the most interesting file could be that of Ansu Fati, according to Sport. Fati will have the opportunity to prove himself against Hansi Flick in pre-season, but the reality is that the Catalans are preparing for next season without Fati. His departure is more likely as a loan deal, given his high salary and falling value, but the player himself believes he deserves a chance to prove his worth again.

Fati has been linked with a return to his hometown club Sevilla on loan this summer, and few would be willing to take the risk on a permanent deal, with his time at Brighton and Hove Albion having convinced no one that he was back to what he was. The 21-year-old finds himself in a cyclical situation, unable to adapt to matches due to lack of playing time, and struggling to earn more minutes due to his lack of match fitness.
