It was common knowledge that Aprilia was targeting an Italian rider to replace Maverick Viñales, who was leaving for Tech3 KTM. After trying to attract Enea Bastianini, the Noale brand finally secured the services of Marco Bezzecchi.

The Italian will leave VR46, Valentino Rossi’s team with whom he is competing in his third season in MotoGP. Revelation of last season, the native of Rimini has 3 victories, 9 podiums and 4 pole positions since his debut in 2022 and a 3rd place overall as his best result.

He will become the first Italian to defend the colors of Aprilia since Lorenzo Savadori in 2020. As Aleix Espargaro retires and Maverick Viñales takes charge of Tech3 KTM, Marco Bezzecchi and Jorge Martin will be the team’s riders factory next season with the aim of bringing down Ducati.

“Welcome on board one of the best Italian talents, who demonstrated his worth from his debut in the lower categories and especially last year in MotoGP, with exceptional performances and even victories.” rejoices Massimo Rivola, the boss of Aprilia.

“We look forward to welcoming Marco Bezzecchi to Noale; the Italian bike and rider duo is extremely exciting, but the rider duo that will be formed with Jorge Martin is even more so. We are really happy with our lineup for 2025, Martín and Bezzecchi were our first choices for their age, talent, courage and determination. With them, we can write a new and important chapter in the history of Aprilia Racing.”

In 2024, Marco Bezzecchi has a slightly more difficult start to the season and is in 11th place in the ranking with 45 points.
