If we thought the situation between PSG and Kylian Mbappé had been clarified since the announcement of his departure to Real Madrid, this is not the case. The 25-year-old is demanding €100 million from his former club for unpaid wages and bonus.

Kylian Mbappé left PSG on very bad terms. If he insisted on having a tribute at the Parc des Princes for his grand finale, many fans of the capital club do not understand his behavior. Although an agreement had been announced to allow him to leave free, this is not the case. Indeed, Kylian Mbappé has been demanding salaries and bonuses from Paris Saint-Germain since last April. And it would all amount to 100 million euros. But Paris does not intend to give in, wanting the new Real Madrid player to comply with the agreement he would have agreed to make with PSG a few months ago.

It remains to be seen how this dispute will end when Mbappé believes he is within his rights and the oral agreement has been broken on several occasions. Whether with the payment of a bonus which he had waived, or by his request to be sidelined from Luis Enrique once the announcement of his departure was made. However, Paris SG should not be bothered at international level with this major problem.

Mbappé and PSG, a bad scenario exists

According to information from Sports world, only French justice can take matters in hand. Indeed, it is a conflict on a national scale between a French player and a club from the same country. FIFA will therefore be unable to do anything to decide between the complainants. Something that PSG knows very well and which works for them. As a reminder, there are only two scenarios in which FIFA can intervene. It will first be necessary for Mbappé to take legal action being a Real Madrid player or secondly for French justice to take too long to deal with the dispute. FIFA, in its article 12 bis, specifies that “clubs are required to respect the financial obligations contracted with players and other clubs, in accordance with the conditions stipulated in the contracts signed with professional players and in transfer agreements”. If nothing was done, clubs in arrears of more than 30 days may be sanctioned without there being, in principle, a contractual basis which provides for this”. If a sanction were taken, PSG could be deprived of one or two transfer windows. But we are far from that.

In the meantime, the same applies to the referral of this dispute to the LFP. A conciliation is possible, but the scope of action of the LFP is, as for players placed in a loft, very limited. PSG is not going into a showdown without having its back.
