While many are criticizing Bayern Munich’s recruitment of Vincent Kompany as inexperienced, the German club’s Ghanaian legend, Samuel Osei Kuffour, believes the Belgian technician can bring success.
The former Manchester City captain replaced Thomas Tuchel, who left the club following a trophyless campaign. Although Kompany arrives having led Burnley to the Championship following their relegation from the Premier League, Kuffour believes the Belgian can succeed in Germany.
“When he arrived, we had a debate on our legends platform. It was a great debate and I supported it. Why not give someone the benefit of the doubt? Because I think he understands. In his team, if he had the quality of Man City, he could do better”he told Saddick Adams of Angel TV.
“He has the quality to be at this big club and with the type of quality he has, I think he will create a big surprise in Bavaria and in Europe”he added.
Bayern Munich will make winning the Bundesliga their priority, but Kuffour is confident Kompany can also do well in Europe.
” Yes of course. Did we deserve to lose to Real Madrid? Absolutely not. Football is like that, but I believe that if you have the opportunity to coach a team like Bayer Munich, you have to be up to it. It’s a good thing you should do to protect your image”did he declare.
