The Vegas Golden Knights agreed to a three-year contract extension with defenseman Brayden McNabb Friday afternoon. He will receive an average of $3.65 million until the end of the 2027-2028 season.
McNabb, 33, was set to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season. He is currently in the final season of a three-year, $8.55 million contract, or an annual average of $2.85 million.
McNabb is one of three players still with the Golden Knights who were part of the very first roster in 2017-18, their first season. Shea Theodore and William Karlsson are the other two.
The six-foot-four guard has one goal and two points in 16 games this season, playing an average of 19 minutes and 23 seconds.
In eight seasons with the Golden Knights, McNabb totaled 22 goals and 111 points. He helped the team win its first Stanley Cup in 2023.
McNabb was the 66th pick in the 2009 draft, a selection of the Buffalo Sabres. He had 29 goals and 161 points in 756 NHL games, with the Sabres, Los Angeles Kings and Golden Knights.
