Andy Anson arrives at Standard. He joins the board of directors.
The Standard had warned: its board of directors would be expanded in the coming months. Until now it was made up of David Shaw (A-Cap, the company which financed 777 Partners), Pierre Locht and Giacomo Angelini, in charge of the financial management of Standard.
The club has just announced the arrival of‘Andy Anson as a new member of the team. The 60-year-old Briton is currently CEO of the British Olympic Association and president of the Lancashire Cricket Club, one of England’s biggest professional teams.
The man has considerable experience in sport and the media. He was previously commercial director of Manchester United. At Standard, he will have to advise management, but also “facilitate the process of transferring the club into the hands of a new investor focused on the future development of the Liège Standard” according to the press release.
