The Marchand administration revealed the look of the future curling center, which will open in January 2027 and which will cost $39.5 million.
The center will be located at the crossroads of rue des Rocailles and boulevard Pierre-Bertrand. Construction will begin in spring 2025 and continue until fall 2026, with an opening the following January.

Cost assumed by the City
The City of Quebec will assume the sum of $39.5 million without contribution from the government, mentioned the mayor, Bruno Marchand, given “the state of public finances”. The City wanted to move forward all the same, since the curling facilities in Quebec are outdated, he explained. The city will also host the Canada Games in 2027 and the facility will be used for this purpose.

The City hopes to recover $6M, in particular thanks to municipal taxes and the sale of land from the former clubs, which will be transferred to the City.
Greater number of aisles
It will bring together eight curling alleys, the largest number in a center in Quebec, said Mr. Marchand. The center will be in operation year-round.

It will house several multifunctional spaces, such as meeting rooms, rest areas, a play area, a multipurpose room, a kitchen and a bar.

In addition to the sporting aspect, “the social aspect is very important in curling,” underlined the advisor member of the executive responsible for Sports, Jean-François Gosselin. “We want to make Quebec the most active city in Canada,” he assured. “We will be able to have quality sports studies worthy of the name. We will develop future champions!”
