There were 41 of them on the starting line for the European Sommellerie Championship which takes place until Friday in Serbia. There are now twelve in the semi-finals and Angevine Pascaline Lepeltier, 4th in the last World Cup in Paris in February 2023, is in the game.
The New York sommelier is now the only woman in the running. She was also the first woman Meilleur Ouvrier de France (MOF) in sommellerie in 2018.
Waiting for November 15
The quarter-finals took place behind closed doors on Tuesday. The semi-finals take place this Wednesday evening but the names of the three finalists will not be revealed until the same day of the final, this Friday, November 15, at 2 p.m. A rest day, this Thursday will be devoted to a visit to the Serbian vineyard for the twelve semi-finalists.
