Wissam Ben Yedder, the former AS Monaco striker, was sentenced by the Nice criminal court to two years in prison for sexual assault while drunk. In addition to this sentence, he must pay 6,500 euros to the victim, including 5,000 euros for moral damage and 1,500 euros for legal costs. The French international was also sanctioned for refusing to comply, with a fine of 5,000 euros and a suspension of his driving license for six months. His father's vehicle, previously seized, was returned to him.
Ben Yedder to be tried for another case
The prosecutor had requested two and a half years in prison, including 18 months suspended on probation. Ben Yedder, under judicial supervision, has already paid bail of 900,000 euros in another ongoing case, where he is accused of rape during a summer evening in 2023. Furthermore, he will be tried in December for psychological violence in the framework of his divorce started in May 2023. These cases add to a complex legal picture for the former French international, whose career is now overshadowed by these numerous procedures.
