Friborg lost in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16. In Växjö, the Dragons were beaten 1-0 and everything remains possible for the return match.

A football score and still this difficulty in scoring goals for Pat Emond’s players. But the main thing remains that Friborg can still hope to overcome the pitfall and see the quarters.

The Dragons got into the game well before seeing the Swedes take the lead. The game became balanced during the middle third with several actions on both sides and concentrated goalkeepers.

The Friborgs put their noses to the window in the 25th and the two teams went toe to toe without the score changing. And then in the 34th minute, McLaughlin was able to work too easily in Gottéron’s defense before serving Rosen for the 1-0.

This success will ultimately be the only one of this first leg. The return will take place next Tuesday in Fribourg.

Zurich off to a good start

Traveling to Straubing, Zurich managed to win 4-2. Enough to approach the return match with a certain serenity. Returning earlier from Finland during the Karjala Cup, Denis Malgin and Sven Andrighetto stood out. The first scored a double and offered the goal to his friend who also scored an assist.
