“I’m doing a math degree to improve my free time”, Ayyoub Bouaddi, footballer and student

LOSC supporters and followers have known it for several months: Ayyoub Bouaddi is not quite a footballer like the others. Not only is he one of those kids with astonishing sporting maturity and is already achieving high-level performances. We saw him particularly this season in the Champions League, against Real Madrid and Juventus, where he was also voted best player of the match by UEFA.

But Bouaddi is also a damn well-made head. The midfielder won the Grand Prix for eloquence of French training centers last year, in a ceremony organized in the salons of the Elysée. More recently, he passed his baccalaureate with such ease that he integrated into the European elite. Very good mention, at only 17 years old. Having passed through the Liévin youth center, before joining the LOSC training center, he has always impressed with his intellectual ease: “ Firstly, he is a mature, intelligent boy, never stressed and with great self-confidence. The second thing was his courage, always hardworking and first in training. The third thing is his talent on the field. », Confided Georges Tournay, who knew him for two years in Liévin.

“Continuing my studies allows me to keep my mind awake”

Already upgraded to U20 last month, Bouaddi skipped another step last week by being called up for the first time with the French youth team. And unlike his daily life in where we cannot hear the sound of his voice, he went directly to a press conference in front of the media in Clairefontaine. The opportunity for him to talk about the rest of his studies, with a disarming naturalness: “ I’m doing a math degree. It’s to improve my free time and it’s also part of the way my parents raised me. I wouldn’t say I need it but it gives me something, it keeps your mind sharp. We know that today, in modern football, tactics are very important ».
