The CIES Observatory recently published its ranking of the twenty most expensive players under the age of 21 in the world on the transfer market.

Atlas Lion Ilias Akhomach, who plays for the Spanish club Villarreal CF, is in 16th place in this top 20 with an estimated value of 24.9 million euros.

The 20-year-old Moroccan international has seen his rating rise thanks in particular to his performances with the national Olympic team at the 2024 Olympic Games (bronze medal) but also at club level.

Akhomach, as a reminder, was summoned by national coach Walid Regragui for the matches against Gabon and Lesotho for the last two days of the African Cup of Nations qualifiers (Morocco-2025).

Lamin Yamal naturally

The ranking of the most expensive U21s in the world is unsurprisingly dominated by FC Barcelona striker Lamine Yamal. The value of the latter is estimated at 180.9 million euros.

The Argentinian Alejandro Garnacho Ferreyra (Manchester United) and the Frenchman Warren Zaire-Emery (Paris Saint-Germain) complete the podium with respectively 114.8 and 109 million euros.
