Renowned tipster Frank Seravalli has identified 25 players likely to be traded as the draft and free agent market approaches, and two members of the Montreal Canadiens are on that list.

First, veteran defender David Savard.

“The Canadiens will need Savard and his experience to mentor the young defensemen, but they have a surplus on the blue line and several prospects coming up on the right. The CH will listen to offers for Savard, even if the team ends up keeping him, even if it means preparing the ground for the next trade deadline,” observed Seravalli.

Savard, 33, will be in the final year of a contract that takes up $3.5 million of the Canadiens’ payroll.

Christian Dvorak is the second CH player to watch according to Seravalli. The American center has never played more than 56 games in a season since being acquired in a trade with the Arizona Coyotes on September 4, 2021.

“It’s clear that it didn’t work for Dvorak in Montreal. […] The CH will move on one way or another, whether through a transaction or when he becomes an unrestricted free agent,” predicted the journalist.

Like Savard, Dvorak will end his last year of contract in 2023-2024. He has a no-trade clause allowing him to submit a list of eight teams to which he refuses to be traded according to CapFriendly.
