Cadillac celebrated too soon. While the American team thought it would hold pole position after an excellent lap from Sébastien Bourdais (Cadillac n°3) and the interruption of the session by a red flag, Kevin Estre and Porsche came to snatch pole position for the 24 hours of Le Mans. this Thursday evening. The Frenchman placed the No. 6 at the top of the Hyperpole rankings in his final timed lap, making the difference in the last sector and the Porsche Esses.

A few seconds earlier, the Briton Alex Lynn (Cadillac n°2) had also improved Sébastien Bourdais’ mark and will start in second position this Saturday. The sister car of Bourdais-Van der Zende-Dixon will therefore start third, just ahead of the two Ferraris which did not achieve the feat of taking pole for a second consecutive year. Paul-Loup Chatin placed his Alpine n°35 in a very good 6th position.

In LMP2, it was Louis Delétraz who dominated the debates on the No. 14 of the AO by TF team. He will start in front of two French teams, since the no. 28 of IDEC Sport set the second time, just ahead of the no. 65 of Panis Racing. And finally, Brandon Uribe and the No. 70 Inception Racing McLaren ended Alex Malykhin’s dominance in LMGT3. The driver of the No. 92 Manthey PureRxcing Porsche must settle for second place, ahead of the No. 66 JMW Motorsport Ferrari.
