Replacing one star with another is the objective of Al-Hilal, who is seriously considering recruiting the star of Al-Nassr, Cristiano Ronaldo to compensate for the departure of Neymar who is no longer wanted by the Saudi management.
Cristian Ronaldo is linked with a remarkable move, to another Saudi Pro League team, Al-Hilal. The 39-year-old joined Al-Nassr in 2022 and won the Golden Boot last season as his club finished second in the championship.
However, the Portuguese superstar, who believes he can continue playing for “two to three more years”, could soon be the subject of a surprise transfer, to the detriment of Neymar.
Indeed, the Brazilian striker has gone through a dismal period since arriving at Al Hilal in August 2023 for 90 million euros.
Neymar suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury while on international duty last year, causing him to miss most of this season.
For his part, Ronaldo’s contract with Al-Nassr expires in 2025, making Al Hilal considering a possible free transfer.
Ronaldo has previously hinted he is likely to finish his career in Saudi Arabia. It won the Arab Champion Clubs’ Cup in 2023, but failed to win a trophy at Al Nassr.
