Precision and concentration… In front of the target, the archers chain together volleys. Tirelessly, they repeat the scales to acquire the technique. The key to becoming a future champion.

The federation said eight years. Eight years, it’s going to depend on the size, it’s going to depend on whether they’re going to shoot the bow. If they are aware of their body. If they are aware of their body before, I don’t see a problem in shooting at six years old.

At eight years old, Océane discovered archery only a few weeks ago. She has already mastered the basics…

You have to take the bow carefully. You have to pull on the rope carefully. You have to put your hands under your chin, and the rope on your nose. And aim well with the viewfinder.

When the shot is perfectly executed, the arrows are propelled at more than 220 km/h towards the target. The bows weigh between two and three kilos. You don’t need to buy your own equipment to get started.

“The clubs, in general, lend bows when you start. Afterwards, it’s true that when you shoot often enough, you appreciate having your own equipment, adds Sabrina from the Company of Archers club of the Sostranian country. Yes, it’s expensive when you buy new ones, but second-hand you can find affordable bows and arrows. We can equip ourselves little by little. We’re in the range of around €400.”

In total, in Limousin, there are 11 archery clubs. Enough to find happiness if you want to discover this sport and why not one day… shoot your arrow at the heart of the target.
