Two separate investigations are open against two US Dax rugby players, the Dax prosecutor told France Bleu Gascogne, confirming information from Sud-Ouest. The two players were placed in police custody on Thursday, the prosecution said. The two rugby players are still in police custody Thursday afternoon. One of the two players is the target of an investigation for “violence committed under the influence of alcohol”, the other for “sexual assault”, adds the public prosecutor.
For his part, Benjamin Gufflet, the president of the club reacts in a press release: “The club, which condemns all inappropriate behavior, reacted as soon as it was informed in order to help the rapid manifestation of the truth for the respect and support of the victims,” he declares, specifying that “the facts still remain under the discretion of the investigation”.
