Their cycling tour of France against climate change stops in Dinan

“Highlighting alternatives and the fight against climate change” is what the local collective of Dinan-Lanvallay is aiming for by hosting a stage of the Alternatiba cycling tour of France, this Monday, June 10. At the end of the day, 3 cycling crews from Plestan by bike arrive at Aublette. Then head to the city center of Dinan (Côtes-d’Armor), where a brief conference will be held before heading towards Lanvallay.

The second reception after 2015

Already in 2015several associations had gathered to host the event. The collaboration of these associations has continued and allows, nine years later, the home of the 2024 edition of the Tour Alternatiba. The Human Rights League of Dinan, Dinan diver’Cité, the Vigiliantes, the city of Lanvallay and even Liaisons doux form the collective this year.

Secretary of Liaisons Douces, Lisianne Rault is satisfied with the creation of this local associative fabric: “We realized in the 2015 village that we had a multitude of associations and ideas in the region. We met on that occasion, and we haven’t let each other go since. »

Fight against climate change

As in 2015, this event co-organized by Alternatiba and Non-violent Action COP21 aims to “stimulate a concrete transformation of the territory in order to highlight the alternatives and local struggles that exist. »

Michel Forget, member of Dinan diver’Cité explains: “The idea of ​​the caravan is to raise awareness of the issues of climate change, to bring together initiatives in an area where they are welcomed. »

Activities all evening

On the menu this Monday, the reception of the 13 bikes, triplets and quadruplets which make up the caravan will take place from 5 p.m. at the Aublette carpooling area.

With their own bike, everyone can accompany the “velolution” which will travel the streets of Dinan to the Duclos room, where Alternatiba will hold a conference from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Velorution will resume its course from 7:15 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. to Lanvallay. From 8 p.m., you can stroll through the Alternatiba “Village” on the town’s communal plot. There you will find association stands, food trucks for meals and the Ti-Rouffs project presented by the municipality.

Finally, two members of Alternatiba will lead training to Nonviolent Action in the Oshun room of the Maison des Associations in Dinan on Tuesday June 11 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Meanwhile, the Alternatiba tour will do it stage in Rennes, Fougères, Granville and the rest of France up to Marseille, where it will end on October 4.
