Moroccan coach Rachid Taoussi will defend his doctoral thesis in business administration on November 18, 2024, at the Éklore-Ed management school in France. Entitled “The characteristics of the ultimate leader-coach: a contextual analysis based on the storytelling method”, this research work will be presented to a jury composed of Bertrand Auge, director of the DBA program at the Éklore-Ed School of Management, Mohamed Amine Balambo, scientific director of the program, Frédéric Dosquet, professor, and Loïc Harriet, director of the establishment.
Last January, Rachid Taoussi discussed the main points of his thesis, which is based in particular on the exhaustive testimonies of Moroccan technical executives, distinguished by their successful careers in national and international football.
Since last September, Rachid Taoussi has also been the coach of the Tanzanian club Azam FC. Trained as a professional footballer within the Sidi Kacem Sports Union, he played as an attacking midfielder, also with AS FAR in Rabat. He became a coach in the early 1990s.
Previously, Rachid Taoussi supervised several Moroccan and foreign teams, but also the Moroccan U17 and U20 national teams, and the Olympic team. From 2012 to 2013, he was the coach of the Atlas Lions A selection. Within his technical staff during this period, he integrated the current coach, Walid Regragui, who was his assistant.
During the 2022 World Cup in particular, Rachid Taoussi closely followed the exploits of the national eleven under the leadership of Walid Regragui, to whom he was full of praise. In an interview with the newspaper Le Matin, the national executive praised the “good coaching” of the current coach, who raised Morocco to the golden square for the first time in its history.
