Amateur football: 960 young people expected for the 40th FC L’Isle-Jourdain tournament

This weekend will take place at the Hol stadium, the traditional Pentecost tournament, which has been moved to better accommodate the passage of the Olympic Flame on Saturday May 18. It will be a great football celebration which will bring together 960 young players from the U 7 to U 13 categories. Certainly a special tournament since the big FCL family will be celebrating its 40th edition!

What a long way we have come since 1982 when Didier Fauré suggested ending the season around a big meeting where youth would be in the spotlight. Over time, the event grew in size and became an unmissable event. This year, 100 teams will be entered; i.e. 40 U11/U13 teams and 60 U7/U9 teams

The steering committee, players, managers, educators and parents are mobilized to offer all these young footballers the best possible welcome. The competition will start on Saturday with the 10/U11 and U12/U13 categories and on Sunday it will be the turn of the U6/U7 and U8/U9 categories to hit the pitches. These two days will end with the awards ceremony, a great moment for the young players who will all leave with gifts.

For weeks, the organizers of the organization have been in action, because even if the tournament seems well run, it requires a long work which must be supported by a solid team. The FCL has always been faithful to its training policy for young people and this event is undoubtedly the fruition of the efforts of an entire club of volunteers, dedicated to the cause of football. Everything is planned for a peaceful day at the stadium, the chefs will be in the kitchen early in the morning to provide catering.
