Formula 1 | Ferrari limits damage after ‘aggressive’ Sprint in Brazil

Charles Leclerc finished fourth in the Sprint in Brazil. The Ferrari driver was very fast at the start of the race but failed to attack the McLarens, and he then saw Max Verstappen come back and finally overtake him for third position.

“A lot of things, we had very aggressive settings, we knew that but the race was very complicated. We had to take risks so I pushed at the start but the car was difficult to drive. There were a lot of mistakes but that’s how it is. The approach for tomorrow will be very different, today we didn’t have much to lose. notes Leclerc.

“I knew that in the worst case we could try to come first or second, in the worst case we would come fourth. We lose points which are important but we learned a lot of things for tomorrow.”

Carlos Sainz had a solitary race in fifth position and scored four points at Interlagos: “The problem is that I made a lot of mistakes at the start. I had a lot of balance problems in the first laps.”

“The truth is that it was not a good race. We had a lot of balance and tire problems throughout the race, so if we want to have a chance tomorrow we have to improve.”

“Today there was no rhythm, although in the end it seems that I accelerated a little, I was not comfortable throughout the race. I expected go faster than I did, so it’s clear that we have to do something to improve.”

“Every lap we do on the track there is more rubber and that helps, but still, it’s a very difficult asphalt to understand and we have to continue to get used to it.”
