“if it continues, you put him on waivers”

There are several clear observations at the moment regarding the performances of the Montreal Canadiens since the start of the season.

The one that stands out the most is obviously the fact that the team allows far too many goals.

Only two NHL teams, CH’s opponent this evening, the Pittsburgh Penguins and the San Jose Sharks, have allowed as many or more goals as the Habs this season.

The CH allowed 47 in 11 games, the Penguins allowed 49 in 12 games and the Sharks allowed 47 in 12 games as well.

In short, it’s obvious, it’s far too many goals against for Martin St-Louis’ squad.

And this is obviously due to the defensive shortcomings in a messy and complicated system, but also to the more than ordinary performances of the goalkeepers.

In addition to Samuel Montembeault’s incredible start to the season, the two CH goalkeepers (Montembeault and Cayden Primeau) do not often give their team a chance to win, or at least, do not save the mistakes of their defenders.

We therefore come to say that currently, the CH goalkeepers are costing the Habs dearly, and that if this continues, one of them could suffer, and that risks being Primeau.

Moreover, according to Stu Cowan, if things continue like this in the case of Primeau, he must be placed on waivers.

Indeed, the hockey analyst was clear during his time at the Sick Podcast recently, when he clearly explained that for him, things cannot continue like this.

If Primeau does not deliver the goods and does not allow his team to have a chance to win, he must be sent to waivers.

Cowan then adds that yes, it is a risk, but that in the end, if the CH loses it, well, they lose it and that’s it.

He clearly has no more patience in the case of Primeau, and for him, it takes an electric shock.

Cowan also explained that personally, it was last year that he would have placed Primeau on waivers, in order to keep Jake Allen and Samuel Montembeault with the CH.

For him, losing Allen, an experienced veteran who brought a lot of positive things to the locker room, is a mistake.

Primeau has never really been able to deliver the goods consistently in the NHL, and it really looks like that’s not going to change any time soon.

It’s a shame, but that’s life, and for real, the CH could get by without Primeau, while in the American League currently, the Rocket is counting on an excellent goalie duo.

Jakub Dobes and Connor Hughes have taken the team on their backs, and are largely responsible for the Rocket’s excellent start to the season (7-1-0).

Let’s also not forget Jacob Fowler, who is simply dominant in the NCAA.

In short, all this remains to be followed, but honestly, it is justified that patience ends quite badly in the case of Primeau.
