What is happening at Manchester City? Absences are increasing, and this is starting to worry Pep Guardiola.

The situation seems more and more complicated on the side of Manchester City. In recent weeks, injuries have continued to pile up.

This Wednesday, the Citizens were eliminated from the League Cup. Pep Guardiola’s men lost 2-1 to Tottenham. But it was with a reshuffled team, Phil Foden played as a center, while James McAtee and Nico O’Reilly, two youngsters of the club, were starters.

“We are in great difficulty because the players who are finishing have had problems, but we will see how they recover. In nine years I have never experienced this situation. We have little time to recover this week. We have 13 outfield players,” explains the Sky Bleus coach.

An impressive list of absences

Here is the full list of players currently unavailable: Rodri, Kevin De Bruyne, Oscar Bobb, Kyle Walker, Manuel Akanji, Savinho, Jérémy Doku, Jack Grealish, Joško Gvardiol. “There are 3 matches left, we will see if we succeed, the academy will help us,” Guardiola expresses with concern.

Concerning the two Red Devils, they should return after the next international break. De Bruyne and Doku will therefore both miss the next rally. This Saturday, Manchester City will face Bournemouth in the Premier League.
