Ligue 1, 12th day
Auguste Delaune Stadium
Reims-OL 1-1
Goals: Diakité (55th) for Reims; Cherki (38th) for OL
In a lively and tight match, OL had to settle for a 1-1 draw in Reims. Dominant and often superior, the Lyonnais paid dearly for their poor start to the second half.
In great financial difficulty, OL went to Reims to confirm their good sporting health. The Lyonnais made an early start, creating several clear chances. Benrahma even slipped the ball deep (7th) but he was flagged offside. Reims goalkeeper Diouf was in good form, stopping a wrapped shot from Cherki but above all a point-blank shot from Lacazette with a firm hand. OL finally found the fault in the 38th minute thanks to a cross header from Cherki, well served by Lacazette. However, Les Gones were far from having done the hardest part since Perri had to work hard at the end of the first act.
The danger from Reims became clearer just after the break with Luka Elsner's men dominating. The reward arrived on a corner. Diakité tackled the ball into Perri's goal, taking advantage of a passive Lyon defense. Enough to put OL back on attack. The clear opportunities were not legion with a face to face overused by Benrahma, author of an uninspired point. Two disputed contacts on Fofana and Lacazette in the open area were not sanctioned by the VAR and Ms. Frappart. Frustrated, OL did well when Perri made two superb saves a few seconds from time. 1-1, OL remains 5th (19 pts) just ahead of Reims 6th (18 pts)
