Jonathan Rouch, crowned amateur bodybuilding world champion in November 2023, has just had an exceptional month of October in his new professional status. An intense and crazy month in a new universe, stringing together four world competitions over as many weekends, a first for him.
To start, on October 4 and 5, in Dubai, at the Mister World competition. Jonathan passes the selections and is among the ten candidates, a group reduced to five on the second pass. For the Ariégeois, it is already a victory, he could not imagine it at this stage of the event. At the end, he will finish fourth, a place which gives him immense joy, and at the same time, a small hint of regret. In a competition, she is the worst.
On October 12 and 13, the Spanish capital, Madrid, hosts the professional world championships. The five-time Finnish winner, Mika Sivhonen, is there. He does it again a sixth time, but Jonathan goes up a notch, he is third. The following weekend, Monsieur Universe Canary Islands competes in Tenerife. Jonathan finished second. Given his progress, first place seemed assured for him on October 26 and 27, during the Night of Champions in London. It took Jonathan a lot of willpower and hard work to get to this point. A season started in February with its new Italian coach, Mauro Sassi, based in Trieste. “I started with the weight gain period until June.” 1.77 m tall, Jonathan reached 130 kg for the first time. Followed by 20 weeks of diet, a muscle mass of 117 kg, ready for Dubai. Jonathan imposes colossal training on himself, convinced that only effort brings results. “For six months, I lived in a bubble, finding real pleasure in training. My entourage, including Linda, my coach, my family, my friends and partners, are essential to me.”
Marc Mignot is his spiritual brother. “Jonathan reaps the fruits of daily, tireless work, a consecration due to his total commitment.” His father-in-law, Marco, highlights the immense work behind the scenes: “I admire him, he always seeks to surpass himself. He is passionate about his sport.”
Jonathan Rouch is already in the 2025 season. Still looking for progression: 97 kg in 2022, 108 kg in 2023, 117 kg in 2024. Where will Jonathan stop?
