We know the new date for the duel between AC Ajaccio and SC Bastia. Interrupted on October 26 after only 42 minutes of play, the meeting between the two Corsican Ligue 2 clubs will be replayed on December 3 at 7:30 p.m.! This is the announcement made this Wednesday by the LFP competition organizing committee.
As a reminder, Olivier Thual, the referee of this meeting between the ACA and the SCB, had stopped the debates shortly before half-time for scuffles in the stands between Ajaccian and Bastiais supporters. If everything quickly returned to normal and the green light for a resumption of the match had been given by the delegates, a violent storm and power cuts within the Stade Michel Moretti had forced the officials to definitively postpone the debates .
The question since then has been to know what form this postponement would take? Either a resumption of the match in the 42nd minute, or replay the entire derby.
It was ultimately the first option that was chosen. The 22 players will therefore resume the match for 3 minutes before returning to the locker room for half-time and then playing the second half.
Obligation to field the same teams on December 3!
Please note that the resumption of this meeting must be done according to very specific criteria. Thus, the two teams will have to resume based on the match sheet of October 26. That is to say that the starters who were on the pitch at the time must be aligned at the time of the restart on December 3, that the replacements on the bench must be the same and that the cards inflicted during the first 42 minutes will be still valid. Please note that in the event of injury to a player present during the first match, he can only be replaced after consultation and decision by a federal doctor.
And if we now know the new date of this opposition between AC Ajaccio and SC Bastia, we know, however, much less about the conditions in which this meeting will be replayed. The LFP disciplinary committee will have to study the incidents in the stands and nothing says that this match will not be replayed behind closed doors! We will therefore have to wait to know the answer because, this Wednesday, this file was not mentioned by the disciplinary authorities of the LFP. A decision could, according to our information, come on November 6, the date on which the two clubs are convened.
Note that the courts have also taken up this matter and that the Ajaccio public prosecutor’s office has opened an investigation for “non-compliance with an administrative order banning travel”, following the incidents which broke out in the stands. . At this time, no complaints have been filed.
