Doriane Pin was to compete in her second 24 Hours of Le Mans next June, where she was to team up with Sarah Bovy And Michelle Gatting at the wheel of a Lamborghini Huracan GT3 in the colors of Iron Dames.

But the young Ile-de-France resident, competing in single-seater racing in F1 Academy and FRECA, announced that she was forced to skip the double round of the Sarthe race.

Doriane Pin had already withdrawn from Race 2 of the FRECA at Spa last weekend due to rib pain, and it turns out that the problem is finally serious enough to force her to take forced rest in the coming weeks.

“As you know, I was unable to ride on Sunday. Following medical examinations, it turns out that I have fractured ribs,” explained Doriane Pin on her social networks (video below). “So it takes time to heal and we had to make difficult decisions for the team, not to participate in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and also not to do the FRECA race at Zandvoort next week.

“It’s obviously a very difficult and sad decision, especially since Le Mans is one of the biggest races of the year for me. I couldn’t wait to ride and share this week with you, but also with the team and do the best I can for myself and the Iron Dames.”

Doriane Pin competed in the 24 Hours of Le Mans for the first time last year, at the wheel of an Oreca 07 LMP2 prototype entered by the Prema team, alongside Daniel Kvyat And Mirko Bortolottian experience which ended in abandonment for the crew.

The native of Ivry-sur-Seine turned to single-seaters this season, and occupies second place in the F1 Academy championship in the colors of the Mercedes Junior team, after winning the first race of the season in Jeddah.

A return at the end of June to F1 Academy?

She is also entered in the FRECA championship under the colors of Iron Dames, under the leadership of the Prema stable, where she made her debut at Hockenheim in mid-May. At the same time, she competed in the first two rounds of the WEC (in Qatar and Imola), in the Lamborghini Iron Dames.

Rahel Frey will replace Doriane Pin in the Lamborghin Iron Dames at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Swiss having already recently been associated with Sarah Bovy and Michelle Gatting during the 6 Hours of Spa.

Doriane Pin hopes to be back in competition for the third stage of the F1 Academy in Barcelona, from June 21 to 23.
