“I absolutely wanted to catch a big wave and then stick to the bottom,” explains Hira. “At the end, I had a rating of 4. I absolutely had to recover on the small waves. I pushed my limits. I passed, it was hot.”

Tahiti is currently in 11th place per team out of 28 (with only 2 surfers entered). The final will take place tomorrow Thursday, still in El Sunzal, Salvador.
