The lack of visibility of Ligue 1 has been regularly singled out since DAZN became the broadcaster of the French championship, and criticism continues to rain down on the English platform.
New main broadcaster of Ligue 1, DAZN was enormously criticized a few weeks ago because of its price. The platform realized that it had undoubtedly exaggerated by offering a subscription at 40 euros per month without commitment to follow the French championship and offered several promotional offers to allow consumers to subscribe at 19 euros per month. A more consistent price but which struggles to convince the greatest number since according to the latest reports from L’Equipe, only 500,000 Football fans in France have subscribed to DAZN. And in recent days, a new choice on the part of the Ligue 1 broadcaster has been the subject of debate, that of removing all match summaries from its YouTube channel.
DAZN no longer offers summaries on YouTube
This responsiveness of DAZN on the video platform with fairly long summaries quickly posted online was one of DAZN’s strengths. But these summaries are no longer available, as the influencer account @PrinceduParc pointed out on X. “Ligue 1 is invisible! I believe that DAZN has deleted all its summaries of Ligue 1 matches on YouTube (probably to force subscription)… And it’s still CRAZY to see that we arrive in November and Serie A is no longer broadcast in France. It’s pathetic” published the X account. The DAZN Youtube account no longer offers any summary of Ligue 1 matches, for a reason which was not communicated by the channel.
Football fans who had not taken the plunge by refusing to subscribe and who were counting on DAZN’s video summaries are therefore likely to grimace, even if it is still possible to watch all the goals of League matches again 1 on the LFP YouTube account or on Free. In any case, this decision does not go in the direction of greater exposure of the championship, which we can regret.
