a club banned from its stadium because of the national team

Algeria – A club was banned from its stadium because of the Moroccan national team.

A new scandal is shaking local football in Morocco. The National Professional Football League (LNFP) has made a controversial decision by banning Mouloudia Club d’Oujda (MCO) from playing its matches at the Stade d’Honneur until the end of the November rally. This measure aims to preserve the condition of the pitch for the international meeting between the Moroccan national team and Lesotho.

This decision caused a wave of indignation among supporters of the MCO. The club, already in difficulty in the championship, is forced to play its next matches at the Municipal Stadium, a ground usually used by the USMO (Union Sportive de Madinat Oujda), a club playing in a lower division. This change risks further disrupting Mouloudia players, accustomed to their Honor field, where they benefit from better infrastructure and massive support from their fans.

The justification put forward by the LNFP is the need to keep the pitch in optimal condition for the Morocco-Lesotho meeting, scheduled for the November gathering. However, many believe this measure is disproportionate and unfairly penalizes the MCO, which is already struggling to remain competitive this season. Supporters were quick to express their anger, denouncing a decision which, according to them, favors international competitions to the detriment of local clubs.

The MCO, which occupies an important place in the hearts of the Oujdis, will therefore have to adapt quickly to this situation so as not to further compromise its course in the championship. It remains to be seen whether the LNFP will reverse its decision, but for now, the club will have to face this new test.
