In tears, Neymar reveals “immense pain”

Neymar claims he “suffered every day” during his 12 months of injury nightmares, with the Brazil international breaking down in tears.

The 32-year-old playmaker has reflected on his latest spell of inactivity as he prepares to make a long-awaited return to action with Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal. After returning to training, Neymar was included in the squad for an AFC Champions League trip to Al-Ain.

Neymar has not played for his club or country since suffering a knee ligament injury while on qualifying duty for the 2026 World Cup in October 2023. Questions have been asked about his future while he was on the treatment table, with suggestions his stay in the Middle East could be cut short, but Brazil’s all-time top scorer is ready to silence any doubters.

Nemar comes back stronger

Discussing his epic journey to full fitness with YouTube channel NR Sports, a tearful Neymar said: “I felt enormous pain. At that point, I already knew it was serious. What I want most in life is to play football. I suffered every day I was away from the field. This is what hurts me the most. I focus on the most important people in my life, my family, my friends and football. I got back up every time I was hurt. But I’m not coming back halfway. »

Neymar has only played five matches for Al-Hilal since his big-money move from Saint-Germain. His contract only runs until the summer of 2025, but there is an extension option under these terms that could keep him in Riyadh for a further year.
