Stan Wawrinka and Viktorija Golubic will be the only Swiss entered in the singles final draws at Roland-Garros.

Jil Teichmann (WTA 199) and Alexander Ritschard (ATP 184) indeed failed in the 3rd and final round of qualifying Thursday on Parisian clay.

In search of the confidence that allowed her to reach 21st world ranking soon ago, Jil Teichmann will be absent from the main draw of a Grand Slam for the third time in a row. She lost 6-1 7-6 (7/1) to Spaniard Irene Burillo Escorihuela (WTA 280) on Thursday.

The 26-year-old left-hander conceded the break three times in a one-sided first set. Trailing 3-0 then 5-3 in the second set, she managed to come back together each time to snatch a tie-break, which she however did not negotiate well at all.

Alexander Ritschard (30 years old) was beaten 2-6 6-2 6-3 by the Canadian Gabriel Diallo (ATP 166). Crowned in a Challenger on clay at the end of April in the United States, he nevertheless remained on seven victories in a row, and had only lost seven games in his first two matches at Porte d’Auteuil.

The Zurich resident, who has reached the final draw of a Major twice (Wimbledon and US Open in 2022), nevertheless had his chance in the third round. He signed the entry break to lead 2-0, but conceded five consecutive games in the process.
