It is a big victory for the camp of the outgoing president. Opposed to Didier Codorniou, Florian Grill was re-elected at the head of the French Federation with 67.22% of the votes bringing together the 1900 clubs making up French rugby.

This Saturday, October 19, with 67.22% of the votes, Florian Grill has just been re-elected president of the French Rugby Federation. After a more than intense campaign marked by the extra-sporting affairs of the XV of , Florian Grill has once again convinced the 1900 clubs in France.

While he took over as head of the FFR in June 2023 to succeed the interim of Alexandre Martinez (following the resignation of Bernard Laporte, president of the Federation from 2016 to 2023), Florian Grill will therefore be able to extend his project in the long term. For his part, Didier Codorniou must face disappointment. The mayor of Gruissan, who did not go to Marcoussis for the announcement of the results, explained: “We started the campaign for the election in , a city that is dear to me. It is natural and fundamental for us to conclude this stage of federal life in the heart of the territories which irrigate and sustain our rugby.”

As a reminder, the Midi Olympique consultations gave Florian Grill the favorite. Two weeks before the elections, 65% of the votes went to Florian Grill, the outgoing president. For his part, Didier Codorniou gathered 35% of the votes. These first trends ended up being confirmed this Saturday, October 19.
