N1M. Les Sables at the end of the suspense in Poissy

It’s a unique and absolutely crazy suspense that the Les Sables players were treated to, this Friday, October 18, on the floor. A meeting punctuated by… three overtimes, which the Vendéens should have won at least ten times, and which finally ended with a snatched victory at 10:39 p.m…. That is almost an hour after the first final whistle of the game.

Until then, Prolhac’s teammates had delivered a solid score during the four “official” quarters, showing themselves to be clinical and murderous with each comeback from their opponent. Leading from the start (2-14, 5e), they thus stunned Poissy Basket with five points from Klein and Maughmer just before the break to consolidate the gap (35-40, 20e).

55 minutes of play

With a winning shot at the end of the match from a good Mipoka-Likamba (63-68, 36e), we thought the victory had been achieved. This was without counting on a poorly managed Sablaise money-time and a festival of the excellent Yvelinois leader Cham (68-68, 40e).

The first overtime remained undecided, with two shots on the hoop in the last second from Maughmer and Prolhac (77-77, 45e). The second should then have smiled on François Sence’s players, thanks to Martel’s diabolical skill in throwing (80-86, 49e).

Only, Closson, Cham and Michineau chained three 3-point shots for Poissy, the last of which at the buzzer, and therefore offered an incredible third overtime (89-89, 50e). A final opus which for once seemed promised to the locals (97-95, 53e). Until Lessort came out of his box to score 6 points, and especially Maughmer scored the last basket of this crazy encounter to give the Sables a definitive advantage (104-105, 55e).

Yes, at 55e minute, you read that right…
