Several young riders renowned will be present during this edition, starting with the winners of the previous edition, the German Tim Elter and the Spaniard of Basque origin Annette Gonzalez Etxabarri.

On the Moroccan side, eighteen young surfers (14 boys and 4 girls) will try to obtain good results against the best European juniors. This is the case of Aymen Gougal, who finished 9th in the general classification last season, and Mohammed Reda Madouar among the boys, as well as Lilias Tebbai and Ranya Squalli for the girls. The competition starts this Wednesday with the first heats, weather conditions permitting.

The WSL is considering organizing a stage of the elite Championship Tour in Morocco

With two competitions on its circuit taking place in Morocco, the Junior Pro in Casablanca and the Qualifying Series in Taghazout, the WSL does not intend to stop there and would even consider organizing a stage of the elite Championship in the Kingdom. Tuesday, at a press conference presenting the Morocco Mall Junior Pro, the marketing and events manager at WSL Europe, Cheyne Bradburn, told “Matin” that his organization would consider organizing a stage of the CT in Morocco. “Morocco is a destination of choice for surfers from all over the world. In addition to his international class waves, he has a passion for surfing and we notice it from one year to the next, even at the sponsorship level. The Kingdom also has legends in the discipline and a rider who competes in the CT, namely Ramzi Boukhiam. It is a favorable environment for the organization of a stage of the elite circuit. It would also be good to offer a stopover at home to Ramzi Boukhiam,” said the WSL manager.
