“I’m really disappointed”: Yorbe Vertessen can no longer stand his role in his club – All football

Yorbe Vertessen is disappointed with his situation in Germany. The Belgian player speaks about his role within the team. He no longer wants to be a “joker”.

Arriving at Union Berlin last winter in the hope of establishing himself as a starter, Yorbe Vertessen seems frustrated with his current situation. In fact, the Belgian player is not yet an indisputable starter.

The Tienen native has participated well in the 6 Bundesliga matches played by his team since the start of the season. However, the Red Devil only started twice. His total minutes played since the start of the season stands at 246.

The center forward explains to the German magazine Kicker that he wants to play more: “I’m really disappointed. I want to be more than a joker. I want to be an important player, someone who starts matches and who the coach can trust.”

Only one goal scored this season

This season, the former Union Saint-Gilloise player has only scored one goal in the Bundesliga. But not against just any team! Holder, Vertessen scored against Borussia Dortmund on October 5, just before the break. His team finally won 2-1 against BVB.

More determined than ever to establish himself in Germany, the Belgian will have to seize every opportunity given to him to integrate. Which he already did perfectly just before the international matches in October.
