“Arsenal will break the bank for Trossard’s rival”

With two goals and an assist in nine games, Leandro Trossard has started the season well at Arsenal, but the 29-year-old Belgian is still not an indisputable starter. And there is no indication that the situation will change.

With strong competition from Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz up front, Trossard was only featured in half of the matches played. Since his €24 million move from Brighton to Arsenal almost two years ago, the versatile striker has scored 20 goals and provided 13 assists in 77 appearances.

A competitor for Trossard?

The numbers aren’t bad, but they apparently aren’t enough to convince Mikel Arteta. The London board itself seems to be of the opinion that the Gunners need quality reinforcement in the attacking sector. The main target is already known.

According to London and others, Benjamin Sesko is always at the top of the wish list. Loïs Openda’s teammate at Leipzig has been in the sights for some time, but according to several sources, Arsenal will soon make concrete efforts to try to attract him to London.

Break the bank

If this is the case, you will have to break the bank because the Germans would demand at least 60 million for Sesko. More than a year ago, Leipzig put 24 million on the table to acquire the 21-year-old Slovenian, who has since scored 29 goals and provided 11 assists in 79 matches, with sister club RB Salzburg.

For Trossard, the arrival of a player like Sesko risks pushing him down the hierarchy. For the moment, however, nothing has been done but the Red Devil knows that he will have to continue to give his all if he wants to have a chance of keeping his place and being a starter more often.
