Towards a Standard – Charleroi without Carole supporters? “A rather positive meeting”

The Walloon clash between Standard and Charleroi, scheduled for Sunday (6:30 p.m.) as part of the 11th day of the championship, could be played without Carol supporters, at the request of the Liège police who fear excesses. They are based in particular on the problematic progress of the last matches (rat throwing, violence, etc.).

This Monday, a meeting “rather positive according to the latest news” was held between the clubs and the Pro League, but the Liège authorities will have to decide.

An intermediate solution could consist of reducing the contingent of Carolos supporters. But how much? And among ticket holders, how to arbitrate the distribution?

Via a press release, the Standard Ultras regretted having finally been excluded from the discussions planned for Monday. They demand “the arrival of the Carolos supporters in their entirety […] In terms of organization (payment for tickets, bus reservations, etc.), this seems inappropriate to us and would be a total lack of respect. The timing is not good.”

PHK04 and UI96 are threatening to cancel their events planned for Sunday.

A definitive decision could come this Tuesday.
