On December 2, the countries participating in the Four Nations Tournament will have to submit their final alignment for the tournament which will take place in February.
Until then, we will have to monitor a few Canadian players who may have a position with their nation. I’m talking about Samuel Montembeault, Nick Suzuki (Canada), Cole Caufield (United States) and Joel Armia (Finland).
In Montembeault’s case, he is probably the one with the best chance of participating in the tournament, given the situation in front of the Canadian net. Despite everything, Don Sweeney, GM of the Bruins and Team Canada, is not worried. This is what Pierre LeBrun mentioned most recently Insider Trading.
He is not worried and he knows he will have a very good pool of goalkeepers.
According to LeBrun, three goalkeepers will be selected before December 2, but none of these three masked men will be announced as starters for the tournament. The three goalkeepers will therefore have to demonstrate what they are capable of from December to January.
In the case of Montembeault, he is clearly a goalie who will be in the conversation. And his opener against Toronto certainly opened some eyes, but not to the point that Sweeney is going to overreact. This is what he mentioned to the reputed informant.
Besides Monty, Jordan Binnington, Adin Hill and Stuart Skinner are other goalkeepers who will have the chance to make the club. Remember that the CH protégé did well last year at the World Championship.
In any case, it’s really in front of the net that the questions persist for Team Canada, because in attack and defense, the alignment is already very powerful, at least, on paper.
