The “troubleshooting” ticket will cost €5 on board Parisian buses during the Olympic and Paralympic Games, twice the usual price, RATP and Ile-de-France Mobilités (IDFM) indicated on Thursday May 9, 2024.

Users who have not purchased their ticket before boarding will have to purchase two tickets at €2.50 from the driver, IDFM confirmed after a publication from the user federation FNAUT mentioning such a price.

This additional ticket, however, only represents 2% of sales, underlined the RATP and the transport authority in the Paris region.

€4 at the counter

Sold at the counter or online, the single ticket will cost less than on the bus, but still €4 from July 20 to September 8.

The prices of certain titles are indeed increasing “to finance the reinforcement of +15% of the transport offer during the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, which represents an additional cost of 250 million euros”indicated the president of IDFM, Valérie Pécresse, in a statement toAFP.

“It’s a temporary increase with the sole objective: not leaving any Olympic debt to the Ile-de-France residents”underlined Valérie Pécresse.

A “Paris 2024” pass offered

The train or RER ticket outside Paris will increase to €6 each, while bus tickets to Roissy or Orly will increase to €16. Navigo day and week packages will not be sold during this period.

This involves avoiding queues at ticket counters during the Olympics, and making visitors pay in part for the additional transport offered, according to IDFM, which organizes transport in the capital region.

A “Paris 2024” pass is also already on sale, intended for visitors at a price of €16 per day for unlimited journeys.

The price of the packages remains unchanged

Regular users of Ile-de-France transport are encouraged to load tickets at the usual price of €2.15 – or €17.35 for ten – before July 20 on their Navigo Easy pass or on their smartphone (up to 30 tickets).

The price of the packages remains unchanged for holders of an annual or monthly Navigo pass, Imagine R pass, Amethyst pass, as well as beneficiaries of social tariffs, i.e. 5 million users.

Liberté + pass holders (with journeys billed at the end of the month) will also continue to pay €1.73 for their individual tickets during the Olympics.
