‘The hardest working group’: Pacioretty is full of praise for the Leafs

Forward Max Pacioretty is clearly feeling good in Toronto, and he didn’t hesitate to shower his Maple Leafs teammates with praise.

According to the former captain of the Montreal Canadiens, his new friends in the Queen City form the “hardest working group among those he was a part of.”

“I saw it from day one,” he said at a press conference on Saturday. “There is a reason why they are talented players. They work and they take care of themselves.”

“I noticed it two minutes after I got here [à Toronto]“, continued the 35-year-old winger. “But you see it every day, every morning, and it’s really good to be with them.”

Last week, Pacioretty added a layer by highlighting the honor of donning the maple leaf jersey. “My kids say it’s the best sweater I’ve ever worn,” he said.

Moreover, his agreement with the Maple Leafs should be made official on Sunday, according to several sources. He arrived at the Ontario organization’s camp with a professional tryout contract in his pocket.

In three preparatory games, Pacioretty amassed two goals and three assists for five points. He spent last season with the Washington Capitals, posting four goals and 19 assists for 23 points in 47 games.
