Manchester City beat Fulham 3-2. Jérémy Doku was decisive for his rise to the game.
We told you about it a little earlier in the afternoon, Manchester City experienced some difficulty getting started against Fulham. The visitors opened the scoring through Andreas Pereiera, with a wonderful assist from Raul Jimenez.
But City had no time to doubt, with Mateo Kovacic equalizing five minutes later. From the start of the second half, the Croatian scored twice to put Pep Guardiola’s troops in control.
The Doku – Castagne duel sparked
Reserve at kick-off just like Timothy Castagne on the other side, Jérémy Doku came on after an hour, replacing Jack Grealish. Castagne imitated him in the last quarter of an hour, his very first minutes of the season in the championship.
Unfortunately for him, Doku gave him misery. Launched in one-on-one, the Cityzens supersub fixed the Ardennes before continuing with a powerful strike under the batten, for the 3-1.
The Mancuniens finally won 3-2, coming within a point of Liverpool, victorious earlier in the day at Crystal Palace. If Doku scored points, it was clearly a poisoned chalice for Timothy Castagne.
