This morning in the Pink City, the Dutchwoman is the only representative of the Toulouse Métropole Triathlon.
Last year, you were already present on this stage in Toulouse. How are you approaching this return to the Pink City?
There is still a lot of excitement to be able to be at this event. The Supertri League offers a unique racing format. But this year, I joined the Toulouse Métropole Triathlon club. So it will be an even more special moment for me to be here. I have very good memories of last year’s race. There was a crazy atmosphere in Toulouse. Seeing all these people cheering you on along the way… It was truly incredible. I believe that many triathletes like to come back to Toulouse with this special course in the city center. I hope it will be a great party and that we will have good weather (laughing).
This year, the field is even higher.
Yes, it’s very, very strong this year. But it is by confronting the best that we can progress. So I don’t hold myself back from the competition.
So you joined the TTM this year, playing in the French Division 1 club championship. What is your record?
I wanted to join a club in France. And it was me who contacted the TTM. I had good feedback on this club. And I don’t regret my choice. During the D1 championship, our women’s team finished the season in 4th place in the general classification, the best result in the history of the club. And there was a really great atmosphere within the group. I was very well received by the managers and my teammates. It was truly a great season.
