TDF. Tour de France – Vingegaard back on the bike: “I hope to be at the start…”

THE Team Visma | Lease a Bike posted a video this Tuesday to announce the return to training of the double winner of the Tour de France, Jonas Vingegaard. The Dane got back on a bike for the first time to train outdoors. On the Tour of the Basque Countryhe had fallen in the company of Primoz Roglic and of Remco Evenepoel in particular and it was he who suffered the most (fractures of a clavicle and several sides, pneumothorax and pulmonary contusion). Vingegaard had to stay in hospital for 12 days before being able to return.

Vingegaard, Evenepoel, Roglic… Chaos in the Basque Country

“I feel good”

Jonas Vingegaard spoke on the video posted by his team: “This is my first time going out on my bike again. It’s very nice to finally be able to ride a bike and finally ride on the road again. I’m really looking forward to the next steps. I feel good. It gets better every day. There are still some things I need to get over, but it’s getting better and better.

The Dane then mentioned the Tour de France : “Of course, I hope to start in the Tour de France. We don’t yet know how my form will evolve and how my recovery will continue, but I’m doing everything I can to be in top form there.“An injury which upsets his meticulous preparations which he has been doing for 2 years and which have led him to two successes in the last two years.
