The action took place at the very end of the match between Preston North End and Blackburn on September 22. In the 89th minute of play, visiting player Owen Beck was sent off directly for an irregular tackle and immediately had his neck bitten by Milutin Osmajic. The Montenegrin striker just received a yellow card. And he even scored a double against Watford the following week.
A big fine
But the gesture could not go unpunished and the former player from Cadiz, in Spain, was sanctioned with eight matches and a fine of £15,000 (17,900 euros) a posteriori by an independent commission.
In a statement published on its website, Preston North End said it accepted “the decision. The suspension means Milutin will not be available for the squad until Saturday, November 23 for the home clash against Derby County.
