Ivan Demidov is still in the bad graces of SKA Saint Petersburg head coach Roman Rotenberg, who limited him to just four minutes of play on Thursday.
Things are going from bad to worse for the Montreal Canadiens prospect, who was named rookie of the month in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL), but who is spending less and less time on the ice.
After being limited to 7:32 against Red Star Kunlun on Sunday, he this time made a total of six appearances, including none in the third period, against Dinamo Minsk. Demidov had time to get bored on the bench as he was only active for 4:7

This was to be expected since the 18-year-old had been placed in the fourth line before the start of the game. With eight points in 11 games, Demidov is one of SKA’s best scorers, but Rotenberg doesn’t want to hear anything.
Remember that KHL leaders generally give few gifts to athletes with a future in North America. If everything goes as planned, Demidov will fight for a position with the CH next season. St. Petersburg beat Dinamo 3-0.
