Servette started the group for the Super League title perfectly. At home, the Garnet won 2-1 against Winterthur. Thanks to this success, they regained 2nd place in Lugano for 1 point, which for its part lost at Cornaredo against Saint-Gall 1-0.

Against Winterthur, Servette did not delay to take the advantage. The Grenat thus struck twice after less than 5 minutes of play. First via Crivelli in the 2nd then by Douline in the 4th, and this on their first two shots on target.

This idyllic start did not prevent René Weiler’s men from experiencing a few cold sweats, especially when less than 5 minutes after Bronn’s post which could have put Servette away for good, Winterthur reduced the score to the 87th thanks to Schneider. But the Garnet held on to the shock in the last opposing actions to pocket the 3 points.

End of series for Lugano

Undefeated for 9 matches and February 18 in the Super League (7 wins, 2 draws), Lugano fell. At home, Mattia Croci-Torti’s men lost 1-0 against St. Gallen. However, they generally dominated the debates with 21 shots on target to 8 and 70% possession, but they were trapped by a success from Witzig just before the break.
