However, the Aveyronnais, before the Paris FC match at Auxerre this Saturday (3 p.m.), are fourth, therefore still play-offs. A consolation before going to play the next match at Saint-Étienne.
Annecy more realistic
The first period was not favorable to the RAF, totally suffocated by the volume of running of the visitors. Indeed, we quickly understood that the game plan of the Annecy players would be to play in twos or even threes against the Aveyron ball carrier. Worse, the second balls were from Haut-Savoy and the Rouergats were unable to get in the direction of the goal.

Also, Annecy could be dangerous and take advantage of a few Aveyron errors. On one of them, Larose was ideally placed to open the scoring in favor of the visitors (19th). The latter remained pressing since the Ruthenian goalkeeper, Jaouen, had to be decisive on several occasions to prevent Annecy from increasing the score.
Annecy on fire
In the second half, Camara would freeze Paul-Lignon by scoring a second goal for Annecy with a beautiful cross shot (57th). But the Aveyronnais reduced the score with a header from Hountondji, shifting the match into another dimension (63rd) since, in continuity, Annecy added a third goal by Djoco, exploiting Ruthenian defensive weaknesses (66th). At the end of the match, Danger even saved the RAF from a fourth goal by diverting a Kandil shot onto his line. With this victory, Annecy almost ensured its retention in Ligue 2.

“We saw a great match,” analyzed Annecy coach Laurent Guyot. “The state of mind of my players made it possible to counter a great Rodez team relying on the best pair of attackers in Ligue 2.”

For his part, the Ruthenian coach, Didier Santini, spoke of frustration: “We made three defensive errors 30 meters from our goal which punished us. We knew that we had to not take risks against the team which recovers the most balls in the opposing camp in Ligue 2. Annecy really wanted to win and we were a step below. We knew what was at stake in the match. In short, the one who wanted victory the most won.
